The Pousette-Dart Band

The Cambridge, MA, music scene in the early 1970s was a rather small world where everyone seemed to know everyone else. I met the members of the Pousette-Dard Band, which was a trio then, at various times in clubs around town, especially at Jack’s on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, where the Road Apples had a tenure every weekend in 1972 when I joinded the band.
The first gig I played in Cambridge – and in the USA – was at Jack’s. Many other bands were regulars there, including the unfogateable Peter Johnson and the Manic Depressives; James Montgomery; Robin Lane; Ralph Graham, with whom I had a chance to play a set there when his drummer was late; Duke and the Drivers, with the great Bobby Chouinard on drums; Orphan, with the great Eric Lilljequist and Bobby Chouinard also on the drums; Reeves Little; etc… Jack’s was a great place to check out the competition.
